Homemade Beef Jerky

"Every ranch seems to have their own favorite jerky recipe, this is ours".

Combine ingredients:

  • 3/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • Garlic Salt to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. Worchestershire Sauce

Coat with mixture:

1 lb. Beef (flank steak or round steak) trimmed of all visible fat and cut cross grain into long, thin strips, no more than 1/4 inch thick.

Place meat in container with tight lid. Marinate 6 - 12 hours in refrigerator, stirring occasionally. Place strips on wire rack on baking sheet.

Arrange strips to touch but not to overlap. Bake in a slow 150 degree oven overnight (10 - 12 hours). Store finished jerky at room temperature in air tight container.
